See moreA memoir about pushing through life's hardest moments: when the body is exhausted, the mind is breaking and nothing feels certain - and how to keep fighting when everything tells you to stop.
Lach and Stef Lamble, aka Lambros, know what it means to face challenges that seem too big, too hard or too far away. They know the doubt that creeps in before you begin, the setbacks that test your resolve and the moments when quitting feels like the easier option.
The brothers were 21 and 24 years old when they quit their jobs to run across Australia for cancer research. They had no running background. Cancer had torn their family apart, taking one grandmother and leaving the other battling for her life. They were carrying childhood trauma, a history of substance abuse and poor genetics.
They crossed the finish line at Melbourne's Catani Gardens 85 days and 3400 kilometres later as the first brothers to run across Australia. Along the way they raised $250,000 for cancer.
What followed was a year and a half of accumulated catastrophe: broken bodies, depleted hormones and a near-fatal car crash in the Australian desert. Despite this, the boys took on yet another challenge - to run a thousand miles across the United Kingdom.
One More Step is the full story, told with the unflinching honesty that has made the Lambros one of the most compelling presences in the world of endurance and cause-driven sport.
Written with the raw energy that defines the brothers' voices, this is a book for anyone who has stared down the impossible and taken the first step anyway.
