This collection of writings aims to show how culture and ethnicity play a role in the influence of human social behaviour. An overview of the current psychological knowledge about African-Americans, Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders, American Indians/Alaska Natives and Hispanics/Latinos in the United States, Readings in Ethnic Psychology addresses basic concepts in the field: race, ethnic identity, acculturation and biculturalism.
In addition to examining the sociodemographic characteristics and history of these groups, psychosocial conditions such as crime, delinquency, psychopathologies and clinical and treatment issues are also explored.
