See moreThe installations by the celebrated Portuguese artist
Published to celebrate the opening of the Malta International Contemporary Art Space and its inaugural exhibition by the celebrated Portuguese artist, Joana Vasconcelos, this fully illustrated catalogue presents rich installation photography of the exhibition arranged over the gallery's three interrelated levels.
With works which focus on the quotidian nature of existence, presented alongside four major installation pieces which connect with a sense of the spiritual - Tree of Life, The Garden of Eden, Loft, and Valkyrie Mumbet.
In addition to generous images, the catalogue includes an academic essay and an in-depth conversation with the artist.
With a career spanning over 30 years and a huge variety of media, Joana Vasconcelos (1971) is a Portuguese visual artist recognised for her monumental sculptures and immersive installations. Her artworks are represented in major collections such as those of François Pinault, Louis Vuitton, and the Rothschild Foundation, while her public artworks grace Jupiter Artland, the city of Paris, and Waddesdon Manor.
