How technology and policy can come together to remove carbon from our atmosphere.
Carbon Removal by Howard J. Herzog and Niall Mac Dowell is the first definitive resource on Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR), recognised as essential for meeting "net-zero" climate targets. This book serves as an accessible guide to provide a fundamental understanding of the science behind CDR and outlines how government, industry, and academia can collaborate to combat climate change.
Delving into the history and complexities of CDR, the authors—preeminent experts in the field—offer key insights into the potential future of CDR amidst a warming planet.
Carbon Removal explores the rapidly evolving sector of CDR, presenting technological pathways such as enhancing the land sink, biomass-based carbon capture and storage, engineered removal methods, and ocean-based carbon removal. The book also discusses the barriers to CDR and the ethical implications of these processes.
This timely and vital book illuminates the technologies, policies, and markets that can remove carbon from the atmosphere, helping us achieve our "net-zero" climate targets.
